We all love to try out a different style in our hair, be it simple pony modification or any other braid style. A Dutch braid is also called the Reverse Braid or Inside-Out Braid. This braid is lovely in itself and changes your look completely. Also, it’s effortless to make! It follows the same technique as that of a French Braid, which most of you must have mastered. The only difference between the two is that for a French Braid you cross it over, in case of Duct Braid you cross it underneath and in the middle. Hence, the name!
We are here guiding you for making a Magnificent Dutch Braid step by step:
Thing’s you’ll need:
- Elastic Band
Begin with identifying what state your hair is, whether it’s dry or damp or oily. The best results come in dry and wet hair. Also, you can try it for both straight and curly hair. Apply some hair-mousse using your hands in the middle portion of your hair, keep in mind that the mousse shouldn’t be applied in the roots. Doing so will add extra volume and shine to your hair. Mousse is lighter in your hair, unlike the Gels that add a stiff and crunchy look. For thin and light hair, the mousse is highly recommended.
Next, create a side partition.
Take hair from the top of your head and divide it into three portions.
After you’ve partitioned your hair, start reversely braiding your hair and create a band. Keep in mind to create an inverse braid, instead of crossing your hair above the middle portion, cross it beneath it.
Once you’ve started making the braid, crossed the side sections twice over the middle portion, take another section form the surrounding hair and keep adding it in the braid for every two crosses.
Repeat the above step and produce the braid diagonally towards the other end.
Continue braiding till you reach the end, once you do, secure it with an elastic band. For a natural look, wrap your hair around it to create the effect of an elastic band made of your hair.
Finish the look by spraying on your hair. It’s all set, then.
A Dutch braid looks best on medium length slightly curled hair. That doesn’t mean it won’t look beautiful on thin and short hair. You can add up the look by curling your hair using a curler, or you could do it naturally. One os the easiest and natural way to curl your hair is the headband method. Just separate your hair in few sections, damp the base. Using bobby pins wrap your hair around the hairband and secure it. Here’s a tip; smaller the sections, tighter and stronger the curls will be. Keep this overnight and then remove all bobby pins and hairband to get a beautiful wavy hairstyle.
