World Mental Health Day (10 October) is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. This year after the world mental health day many of the celebrities shared their experience of going through mental stress. In this Momina Mustehsan has told about her panic attacks. Model Kendall Jenner has mentioned about her debilitating anxiety. Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone did not share much video but has told about her clinical depression. She also shared it with a #NotAshamed.
Also Zayn Malik former One Direction star has openly shared about his anxiety since he talked about panic attacks. He said “anxiety is nothing to be ashamed of” and admitted to being uncomfortable with “big groups of people”. He has encouraged others to speak out, saying he feels when he finally did it had “a positive impact on everything that happened after it”. Prince Harry revealed last year that he has been “very close to total breakdown on numerous occasions”.
He said he blocked out his emotions for 20 years after the death of his mother, Princess Diana, in 1997, when he was just 12-years-old.
All the celebrities have shared their story of mental stress with the people. similarly, it gave people a shock when they came to know about Selena Gomez. Selena Marie Gomez is an American singer, actress, and producer. She has opened with her fans that she was undergoing through a treatment after her emotional breakdown. The first incident placed at her home when she was admitted in the hospital for few days. Friends expressed that she was “despondent and emotional” over her alarmingly low white somatic cell count in relevancy her excretory organ transplant.
She was hospitalized 2 times in the past 2 weeks. when she was hospitalized second time it was said that it was because of the emotional breakdown that she was going through. And now she is at a metal health facility for her treatment.
Many sources have has said that Selena Gomez was at her studio city, CA when she got her first emergency hit. When she was first admitted in the hospital she tried to convince the doctor to give her discharge but the refused to do so as she was not so well that she could go out. She just melted down and freaked out. She is currently at the East Coast psychiatric facility. She is being treated by dialectical behavior therapy- DBT. It is a cognitive behavioral treatment which emphasizes individual psychotherapy and group skills training classes to help people learn and use new skills and strategies to develop a life that they experience as worth living. DBT skills include skills for mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
For some time Selena has left social media… but before leaving she has answered her fans questions and has also mentions that depression has consumed her life for 5 years. She also said that, “Depression and anxiety was the forefront of everything I did in my life. Every single thing. And I would still do it. I would make myself have the courage to just keep going.”
She was targeted by many people on social media after the news which came out about the engagement of her Ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin.
